8 Cleverest TV Series Finale Titles

5. Made In America - The Sopranos

The Sopranos
HBO

The Sopranos features one of the most memorable series finales ever made, full stop. Made in America perfectly captured the overall lifestyle of Tony Soprano, as his version of the American Dream was illustrated throughout each of the show's six seasons.

Although there have been several interpretations as to what the finale implied, there are significant details that hint as to why the episode is titled the way it is. Tony Soprano is a made man as the boss of the DiMeo crime family. He attempts to balance both responsibilities to his New Jersey mob family, as well as to his own.

The entire show offers a glimpse at the break down of the American Dream and typical American family. It shows that although an individual can idealize having them, life choices will ultimately prevent them from being actualized. Just look at the contrast between the season one finale and the series finale. The Sopranos arrive together at an Italian restaurant in the former, and arrive separately at an American diner in the latter.

The perks of being a mob boss made in America may outweigh the obvious dangers, but the series finale provides us with an excellent think-piece regarding Tony Soprano's overall composure by the show's end. Focusing on the times that were good, as A.J. put it, is an almost impossible task if you live dual lives in America.
