8 Doctor Who Companions Who Should Make A Return

1. Martha Jones and Mickey Smith

Two for the price of one. Martha and Mickey were both some of earliest companions to feature on the modern era of the show and they both were somewhat poorly treated by The Doctor. When we last saw the pair, they had gone freelance and were fighting aliens on their own accord as a married couple. It would be great to see them both again and to see what they're up to. Not only that, but it would be really interesting to see how the pair react to a female Doctor.

Unlike Rose and Donna, there is no reason that the pair can't return as they continue to operate as usual on Earth. Both of the actors were meant to return previously, but couldn't because of contract conflicts. Freeman Agyeman was supposed to feature more prominently on Torchwood, and Noel Clarke was supposed to appear in The Sarah Jane Adventures.

It would also be a nice way to pay homage to the Davies era of the show, which is what brought many current fans to the series. Fans would be bound to be happy to see these old friends return. While it would be great for the pair to return as permanent companions, it would likely more sense that the pair would only appear for a one off appearance.
