8 Fantasy TV Cross-Overs We Need To See

2. Alice Morgan (Luther) and Spencer Reid (Criminal Minds)

Alice + Reid

Two geniuses. They both attended university at 13. (Alice to Oxford, Spencer to Caltech). Alice has a PHd in Astrophysics. Spencer has PHds in Mathematics, Chemistry, Engineering, as well as a BA in Psychology and Sociology. Both entered their careers at an extremely young age, Alice in the study of dark matter, Spencer to the Behavioural Analysis Unit of the FBI. And yet despite the fact that they are both geniuses, they both have some definite differences. Alice Morgan is a narcissist and and a sociopath. She killed her parents because she hated feeling like a freak in her childhood and remains proud of the fact that no one, not even John Luther, has been able to prove it. Spencer Reid on the other hand helps catch killers, using his genius intellect to get inside their heads and find patterns to the murders to solve the case. And yet, despite the fact that they are able to both function in society, their intellect creates a social awkwardness that others find it difficult to relate to. I wonder what would happen if they met. Would Alice attach the same curiosity and obsession to Spencer Reid as she did with John Luther? How quickly would Spencer be able to deduce her crimes and as a genius would he be able to find the proof where others had failed? I would imagine there would certainly be an attraction to each other intellectually, but would that develop further? In the recent series of Criminal Minds, he found the woman of his dreams because she could connect to him on his level. Would the same apply to Alice? Or would he shy away from her sociopathic tendencies? A cross over between these two characters would have so much potential. A tragic love story? A game of cat and mouse? An ongoing plot within Criminal Minds itself? What ever route the story would take, Alice Morgan and Spencer Reid would be too twisted sides of the same coin.
