8 Greatest Series Revivals In TV History

7. Family Guy

Still going strong at 13 seasons, it is hard to to imagine that Fox originally cancelled Family Guy at the end of Season 3. In actual fact, the show originally met its demise after the second season due to low ratings, but the studio loved the show and ordered a 13-episode third run. Unfortunately even a change of scheduling couldn't save Family Guy and its cancellation was confirmed. But then fan uproar, great DVD sales and viewing figures on repeat runs made Fox reconsider and the studio that was responsible for cruelly cancelling great shows like Firefly did the unthinkable and brought Family Guy back. Since then Family Guy has been more popular than ever, winning awards and even getting a spin off in the less-funny The Cleveland Show, which lasted four seasons. With series creator Seth MacFarlane's often crude brand of humour, Family Guy isn't for everyone's tastes but it is still going strong, finally achieving the ultimate cross-over event with The Simpsons in 2014.
