3. Swarm and Azure are the Same Species as the Doctor
This one has been going around since the first episode. It’s a theory that could make sense. We don’t know who the Doctor’s original people are. We have no idea where they’re from. All we know is that the Timeless Child was sent through a portal and found alone by Tecteun.
Was the Doctor sent through the portal to escape the Flux? If they were, then it could be that their original species were left behind to suffer the consequences of the dangerous event, which we now know was manmade and created to destroy the Doctor.
If those left behind were killed or transformed into monsters, this could explain Swarm and Azure’s origins and their hatred for the Doctor and determination for revenge.
In episode one we see Swarm escape the prison he has been held in and “renew” himself in a scene that felt very much like a regeneration. The villain changed actors and everything! That can't be a coincidence.
If we’re wrong here, then they have to just be physical manifestations of the Flux. The swarms that fly around picking off the survivors are an azure colour. That’s it. A swarm of azure. Linking them to the two villains.
