2. Bel And Vinder Are The Doctor's Parents'
Once, Upon Time introduced us to a brand new character, Bel. She’s on a mission to find her partner who she has been separated from, and she’s determined to find him again. It turns out she’s pretty tough. She fights Daleks, Cybermen and evades swarms of dodgy CGI that kill people.
Her partner is revealed to be none other than Vinder, that major new character who just crossed paths with the gang, and she’s having his baby. So why is their story so important? Why was Bel’s story revealed in an episode about the Doctor jumping into a time storm and going back along her own and her friends time streams?
Well, it could be that Bel and Vinder are the Doctor’s parents. We know they’re important characters from the way they’re being treated. They’re loveable and fun. They know how to look after themselves and Vinder knew what a TARDIS is which suggests they've met Time Lords previously.
There’s plenty of questions going on and while it would be a nice twist, do we really need to know who the Doctor’s parents are? If that’s the case, when the Doctor just dropped Vinder off back “home,” (which was destroyed) that must be their home planet!
Saying that, it feels like this could be what they want us to think before throwing a curveball to shock us again. We’ll have to wait and see.
