In War of the Sontarans the Doctor has a vision of a broken, boarded up house floating in the air. It took viewers by surprise and seemed to be nonsense at first… but upon closer inspection it could potentially be House Lungbarrow.

Lungbarrow was the title of one of the final classic Virgin New Adventure novels featuring the Seventh Doctor released back in the '90s. It revealed information about the Doctor’s past, their home and the tragedy of their family. It was full of hints towards the “Cartmel Masterplan” which would have seen season 27 add mystery to the Doctor again, had the show not been cancelled.

This novel became popular among fans as it revealed so much about the Doctor’s history that it became impossible to ignore. While some fans doubt its canonical legitimacy because it’s only a novel, it seems that it could easily be brought into the series here.

It explores the ideas of looming, where time-lords are made and not born. Something that Chibnall has explored since creating the Timeless Child arc. Chibnall has done a lot to create his own version of the Doctor’s past but this could be his way of tying it all together by connecting to something that fans know and appreciate.
