8 Most Mindbogglingly Meta TV Show Cameos Ever
2. Ron Howard - Arrested Development
One of the many traits that made Season 4 of Arrested Development so strange was its full-on embrace of Community-style meta humour. Such humour had always been a part of the show, but it was never used in such a knowing and obvious way as it was in the fourth season. And no moment went as far as the on-screen appearance of narrator Ron Howard.
Howard, of course, plays himself, a movie producer who has become involved in the Bluth's convoluted movie deal. Meanwhile, both Michaels gets a little too involved with Howard's daughter Bryce Howard.
For another layer of meta, look-a-like Isla Fisher plays Bryce, alluding to the way that the two actors are frequently confused with one another by the public as identikit pretty redheads.
