8 Reasons Why Netflix Is Better Than Amazon Prime Video
6. More 'Must-See' TV
In the years since it rose to prominence, Netflix has green-lit hundreds of TV shows and movies. In 2016 alone, the service launched 126 original broadcasts. While not everything has been of a high standard, and there’s certainly an argument to be made about for over-saturating the market, it must be said that the majority of Netflix’s output has been popular with fans, and critically well-received to boot.
Since 2013, the following series and films have proved to be undeniable critical and/or commercial successes for Netflix: Orange is the New Black, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, House of Cards, Sense8, Narcos, Stranger Things, The Crown, The OA, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, LOVE, Master of None, Grace and Frankie, BoJack Horseman, F is for Family, Making a Murderer, Beasts of No Nation, The White Helmets, and many more.
Amazon’s output hasn’t been quite so impressive, and while shows like Mr Robot and Transparent have regularly cleaned up at awards shows, they never seem to capture audiences quite so universally as Stranger Things or Making a Murderer.
Netflix has even garnered a reputation for being a ‘show saver’, having broadcast continuations of series like Arrested Development, Black Mirror, Trailer Park Boys, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and the upcoming Mystery Science Theater 3000.
