8 Reasons Why Netflix Is Better Than Amazon Prime Video
2. Better Device Support
Be it through Smart TV, Fire Stick, Google Chromecast or your trusty games console, the chances are you have access to video apps on your television. One of the biggest appeals of video streaming is that it requires no physical media, and doesn’t necessarily require a bulky media player to work. All you need is a TV, an internet connection, and something to link the two together.
While both Prime Video and Netflix are available on a plethora of devices, Netflix definitely has the edge in this regard. Unlike Netflix, Amazon's service is unavailable on a wide range of set-top boxes, Smart TVs, as well as Windows Phones. Most notably, you can't Prime Video on Google Chromecast, thanks to its unfortunate position as an Amazon Fire Stick competitor.
This has worked out rather well for Netflix, though, as anyone who doesn’t want to switch out their Chromecast for a Fire Stick is likely to stick with them In favour of Prime Video.
It helps that Netflix tends to be a more consistent service across its multiple platforms, sticking to a relatively stable layout between phones, desktops, tablets and consoles. Prime isn’t quite so easy, and seems particularly unwieldy on the Fire Stick, which is what the device was built for in the first place.
