8 Reasons You Need To Watch Marvel's Cloak & Dagger
2. The Acting's Good, Particularly Olivia Holt
Three episodes in and the characters are still growing, which means we haven't got too much of a feel for many of the supporting cast. We've seen enough of the two lead actors, though, to say that they are talented young performers and do a good job of carrying the show on their shoulders.
In particular, Olivia Holt has really impressed so far as Tandy. The character acts as a street-wise grifter and con artist but is really vulnerable and lonely. That said, she has learned the tough way that she has to protect herself and won't hesitate to leave those she cares about in the lurch if it benefits her. It's a complicated role to nail, and Tandy is one of the most complex heroines we've seen so far in the MCU, but Holt gives a strong performance.
Aubrey Joseph, on the other hand, hasn't got to show quite as much range yet as Tyrone is a mostly taciturn character and is not in quite as desperate a situation as Tandy. However, he plays the introspective teen still haunted by his brother's death well and he shows a lot of promise for when the character gets to stretch his wings (or cloak) some more in future.
