8 Reasons You Need To Watch Marvel's Cloak & Dagger

No doubt a lot of Marvel fans out there are not that bothered about Cloak & Dagger due to perceiving it to a be a show for teens. At least part of that might be to do with the fact that it airs on Freeform, previously known as the adolescent-orientated ABC Family. However, it's worth remembering the show is itself contributing to the rebrand of the network to aim it at more of a mature audience.

And that's something that definitely comes across in what we have seen of the series so far. Yes, the lead characters are teens and it's building up a romance between the pair but it's not your typical teen high school drama and, as I've pointed out, has more to say than you might expect from it.

For comparison, Hulu's Runaways is perhaps more of a typical teenage show as its emphasis is on the act of rebelling against your parents. Cloak & Dagger, on the other hand, better captures the young adult experience of trying to find out who you are and what your place is in the world.

Knowing past Marvel shows, the quality could well dip before the end of the season but these introductory episodes of Cloak & Dagger suggest it's going to be another worthy addition to the canon.
