6. Justification For Clarissa Mao
Clarissa's increase in importance in Season Five was not terrible, but the shift in focus to her wasn't the most natural of developments. She's a decent character but the audience couldn't possibly feel attached to her in the same way as individuals such as Camina Drummer or Bobbie Draper. Yet it appears that it'll be Clarissa taking Alex's spot on the Rocinante for the final season.
Whether this means she'll predictably take over the role of the pilot or if she'll just be there as Amos' love interest is not yet known, but hopefully she'll do more than that. Clarissa already has an uphill battle as she is competing for screen time with characters we've known longer and care about more deeply. She has the makings of being an engrossing addition for the final season but she will have to prove it.
She is most probably going to be integral to Amos' arc in someway but if she'll be staying on the Rocinante then she needs to stand on her own as well.
