8 Ways The Walking Dead Season 10 Has Saved The Show

3. They Fixed Daryl Dixon

He may be the most popular person on the show, but from a narrative perspective, Daryl wasn’t doing so well.

Under the era of showrunner Scott Gimple, Daryl became less and less important to the plot, and more importantly, less and less vocal. Just take a look at Season 8 and Daryl is mostly silent, bar some huffs and growls. Giving your most popular character no lines or arcs for three years is never a good thing, but luckily Angela Kang turned things around.

The dialogue has become much more natural, Daryl has actual motivations and feelings, and the new characters placed around him have brought out some more sensitive emotions in the previously animalistic lone wolf.

The father/daughter relationship with Lydia, the bond with his dog and the episode shared between Daryl and Connie were all highlights last year, and with a romance for Daryl teased this season, Angela Kang certainly has a plan in mind to further humanise and engage the audience with Daryl.
