9 Horror TV Show Facts That Will Blow Your Mind

7. There's Car Easter Eggs All Over Supernatural

The Haunting of Hill House
The CW

For any fan of Supernatural, the 1967 Chevrolet Impala that serves as demon-smashing wagon for the central brothers holds a special place in their hearts - and fair enough really, it's the beloved vehicle of Sam and Dean Winchester as they careen about the place cleaning up paranormal messes.

Over the series, eight different Impalas have been used and subsequently wrecked, with a graveyard of car corpses kept as a junkyard which has even been used for set purposes as the seasons have rolled on. Really, the thing is embroiled into the iconography of the show, which the creators recognised and decided to have a little bit of fun with.

Car coordinator (yes, that's a real job) Jeff Budnick claimed in an interview with Nerdist that he tries to incorporate his fleet of Impalas into the show as much as possible. For example, he snuck the season 1 Impala into the background of a shot in season 11: “I do that quite a bit. If you actually really look close, you’ll see a lot of stuff. If I have a junkyard scene, you’ll see Impala doors or hoods from the car that were crunched from different episodes we’ve done. I always try to do that.”
