9 Reasons Doctor Who Flux Could Be The Best New Who Series

6. The Music

With your writer here being guilty of criticising Segun Akinola's music in previous series for not being memorable enough, this season has seen a major step up in his work. The music used in this series so far has been wonderful and really feels like it's evolved.

While season eleven's music never really stood out, season twelve pushed things further and now for this season it feels like a brand new composer has stepped in. There have been moments that the music has felt very much like Murray Gold. It's been big, grand and added so much more to various scenes.

It's hard to tell if everyone has gone all out this season because they've hit their stride and know what they're doing so well, or if it's because it's the final series of this era. Either way, it's a very welcome change and it'll be exciting to see it evolve even more going forward.

Simon is a writer, cat dad and presenter of a geeky radio show with his husband. He loves Doctor Who (except 10 who can get in the bin…only joking.) He idolises Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Lara Croft and would 100% be a Sith Lord in a galaxy far, far away. He wishes life was like a musical so he’d actually be a good singer.
