9 Reasons Doctor Who Flux Could Be The Best New Who Series
5. It Looks Beautiful
Everything about this series so far has been visually gorgeous. The sets, the costumes, the lighting, the general photography of it all is just beautiful. The last few seasons have looked better than ever with that cinematic gloss that makes it hard to believe this is a TV drama.
Sure, the CGI occasionally looks a little unbelievable but, for a TV show, this is the best we could expect. While some have claimed it looks like RTD era special effects, more fans seem to reject that and agree that it looks beautiful.
The Halloween Apocalypse gave us jaw-dropping visuals of space and the planet-eating Flux as it tore through space. War of the Sontarans gave us misty battlefields, flashy spaceship interiors and a spooky abandoned temple. The worlds we're invited into are realised with such detail that it can hardly be believed.
To think that not only is this on a budget, it was all created during lockdown when the world was at its darkest moment in the pandemic, is a real eye-opening testament to the sheer skill and determination of those working on the show.
