9 Reasons Doctor Who Flux Could Be The Best New Who Series

2. A Huge Story Arc

Russell T Davies did arcs the best. Remember Bad Wolf, Torchwood and Saxon? His arcs tended to be subtle and in the background but had huge implications. With Steven Moffat's cracks and "Silence will fall" arcs, they were more in your face, but played out over a long time and spanned the Eleventh Doctor's era.

Chibnall has taken a middle ground approach. Season eleven was arc-lite but season twelve was quite heavy on the destruction of Gallifrey and The Timeless Child. Flux appears to be going all out in following a heavy arc and this is a very good thing.

An arc ties thing together and makes us feel like we're working towards something. It's about the flow of the story and the gradual progression and revelation of information. There are so many intriguing stories in this series and all are tied together by the titular Flux.

It really feels like the Flux arc is going to be one of the strongest of New Who because it has so much potential and is one that's going to keep us guessing due to its unpredictable nature.

He idolises Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Lara Croft and would 100% be a Sith Lord in a galaxy far, far away. He wishes life was like a musical so he’d actually be a good singer.
