9 Reasons Doctor Who Flux Could Be The Best New Who Series

1. Threatening Villains

Flux is an enormous sprawling story and we have so many villains introduced already. We've met Sontarans, Weeping Angels and Swarm along with his sister, Azure.

The Sontarans have made an impressive U-turn and gone from being comic relief monsters to a credible threat once again. War of the Sontarans saw the classic versions of the villain take the limelight and absolutely shine. Chibnall has done a brilliant job of reinventing classic monsters and thankfully, the Sontarans were no different.

The Weeping Angels, while we haven't seen much of them yet, have been acting differently. Instead of showing their faces while attacking, they seem to keep their hands covering their eyes as they inch closer and it definitely feels much eerier than before.

The greatest villains so far this series though, are the newbies, Swarm and Azure. We don't know where they're from or what they even are but they are beautifully designed and they have already proven to be a lethal foe within the first two episodes.

The scariest thing about Swarm and Azure is that they are both so unhinged and unpredictable that we don't know what to expect from them and that makes them a true threat that both the Doctor and the audience on edge.
