9 Reasons Doctor Who Flux Could Be The Best New Who Series

3. It's Got Fan Theories Going Again

For so long fans have enjoyed talking about the series and discussing our favourite parts. While we've had lots to talk about over recent years, it's been a very long time since we've had a story so big and complex. And that means, it's been a long time since we've enjoyed swapping theories and discussing what we think it might all mean.

Some of the best theories floating around include Swarm being a member of the Doctor's original species, who sent the Timeless Child through the portal to avoid whatever disaster caused them to "crystallise." Swarm's "regenerative" capability set this rumour into overdrive.

There's also talk of Claire being a Doctor because of how her house has a blue door and she uses very "Doctor-ish" language when talking about "Going home the long way around." There's also a promo image of Claire with '60s era tech and something fans suspect might be a chameleon arch.

Does Dan already know the Doctor or another Time Lord because of his comments about knowing someone whose TARDIS is bigger?

Is the TARDIS really dying?

There are many thoughts and theories and so much to talk about. In a fandom that has been criticised for its toxicity in recent years, it feels like Flux has brought it back to what used to make it so special by drawing people together to discuss their love of their favourite show again.

Simon is a writer, cat dad and presenter of a geeky radio show with his husband. He loves Doctor Who (except 10 who can get in the bin…only joking.) He idolises Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Lara Croft and would 100% be a Sith Lord in a galaxy far, far away. He wishes life was like a musical so he’d actually be a good singer.
