What have we learned so far? To be a good doctor, other than top notch medical skills, you must have a huge ego and inflated self confident. With the amount of times Doctor Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh) has uttered the words "I'm the best" and "I'm very good at what I do", it's very hard not to believe her. Dr. Montgomery was first introduced to us as a part of the ensemble of Seattle Grace's surgeons, in Grey's Anatomy. The redhead neonatal surgeon was so populated and well received that she graduated into her own Medical Drama, titled Private Practice which lasted another six seasons. While in Grey's Anatomy, people traveled from all across the country to receive her surgical care and with her relocation to Los Angeles for the Private Practice, her practice focused mostly on obstetric work with the odd consult in the LA based St. Ambrose Hospital here and there. Other than keeping referring to herself as "the best", what actually makes Dr. Montgomery so good at what she does? How about her list of achievements? according to both shows, the surgeon is considered "the Meryl Streep of Maternal-Fetal Medicine"; She's one of only eight people in the world who can perform OB/GYN, perinatology and neonatal surgery on a world-class level; she has special expertise in twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (whatever that means) and she also completed a medical genetics fellowship focusing on cystic fibrosis. Now, that's a mouthful. And with the perfect bedside manners to top it off, no wonder she is world-renowned (or so they claim). Wouldn't you consider that a great pick for your next childbirth?
