6. Explore Jack's Past But Actually Make It Interesting This Time
Captain Jack Harkness has established himself as one of the most beloved heroes in sci-fi history and the fact he can't die makes his ongoing story particularly endearing. It's no mean feat for the writers to come up with new ways for Jack to shock us but, to all intents and purposes, they were doing pretty well until Miracle Day threw an almighty spanner into the works. There was all that stuff about his stolen identity in Series 1 for starters, before viewers were given a much needed insight into his childhood and secret brother, Grey, throughout Series 2. He kept it in the family for Children of Earth when his past actions caught up with him to result in the death of his grandson and the introduction of his daughter Alice added yet another dimension to everybody's favourite omnisexual Earth defender. And then all that stuff with Angelo happened in Miracle Day which nobody really gave two Weevils about, so if the new audio series is going to explore Jack's past (which it totally should), please try and make it about something that's actually worthwhile, yeah? We're gonna run out of Retcon pills at this rate.
