9 Things You Learn Rewatching Game Of Thrones Season 8

6. It needed the full 10 episode season

Game Of Thrones Season 8

As mentioned before, the 8th season has felt largely rushed, almost as if the makers just wanted to get the show done with. Could that be the case? Only Dave and Dan know for sure. But all can agree that the final 6 episodes suffered greatly as a result.

The best solution would have been to go the full ten episode season to fully flesh out characters motivations, give Cersei more to do, explain a lot more about strategy, and maybe have a full episode with Bran going into the history of the White Walkers. He can see everything that's ever happened so why not?

By reducing the episodes from 10 to 6 for the final season, it simplified characters, dialogue and plot points to an almost baffling degree which made the show almost unrecognisable from its previous seasons. Yes, there were some excellent episodes and moments but it needed more.

A complete season might not have fixed all the problems but giving it time above all would certainly have been welcome.
