9 Totally Stupid Things That Doctor Who Fans Say

5. "The Show Is All About The Companions..."

Amy Pond Series 7 Gifs Doctor Who Series 7 32811350 500 3291 Gif True, and Steven Moffat would tend to agree. All these fans who are complaining that the companions are stealing the show don't seem to realise that Steven is doing it on purpose. He has made no secret of the fact that the show's sidekick will always be the main character - at least, while he's in still charge - but people insist on accusing him of forgetting what the show's supposed to be about. Spoilers: He hasn't. Doctor Who has always been the companion's show and if it weren't for them serving as our eyes and ears into the Doctor's weird and wonderful world, the chances are we'd find it a lot harder to connect to it. Besides, those who complain that the companions are getting too munch screen time are always the first to point out that they're not being used to their full potential, so it turns out Steven Moffat just can't win. Except, he totally can. He's writing the goddamn thing, and he even put Clara Oswald's eyes in the opening credits at the end of the last series - and credited Jenna Coleman before Peter Capaldi - just to remind us all who's boss. He's called 'The Grand Moff' for a reason, you know.
