Yes, but not that much actually did happen, really, since they were generally limited back then in terms of budget, characters and, more often than not, any form of viable narrative. OK, so that was pretty harsh, as it was usually the strength of the stories alone that made the Classic Series of
Doctor Who such gripping and endearing television (because, let's face it, it certainly wasn't the wobbly sets!). But all these stuck up fans who slate the revived show for going against the "rules" of its formative years... So bloody what?! Things change and
Doctor Who has to get with the times or it would be in danger of disappearing off our screens altogether, which would only give you something else to complain about. It's still essentially the same show which is quite an achievement seeing as it's now been running for over half a century. Haters gonna hate, and all that jazz. Still, the 'fans' who claim that
Doctor Who is no longer what it was are either living in the past or enjoy stating the bloody obvious. Or both. Yeah, usually it's both.
