Agents Of SHIELD: 10 Things That Need To Happen In Season 3

1. Some Actual Stakes

Agents Of SHIELD Inhumans
ABC

The stakes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are often as high as its possible to get: in Guardians Of The Galaxy, Ronan wants to decimate a whole planet. Same with the Chitauri invasion of Avengers. The Winter Soldier almost tears the United States, the dominant power in the free world, apart. In Agents Of SHIELD? Ehhhhh.

In the first season, the SHIELD agents are mainly concerned with keeping Skye safe, and tidying up the HYDRA mess from the second Cap film. In the second season, it was...all about Skye again. For a clandestine organisation that's meant to be protecting the world from behind the scenes, the Agents Of SHIELD are fairly navel-gazing.

Now that Skye is Daisy, Simmons can be a superhero, and Ward is off tinkering with HYDRA, how about upping the stakes a little? Give audiences something to root for. Not just liking the characters, but giving the characters something huge to struggle against, an enemy to fight, and a status quo to defend. Make them heroes.

Have them save the world. If not going full Kree-Skrull war, or Inhumans, then at least from Ward and his Earth-conquering plans.
