2. It Brings The Show Closer To The Universe
Speaking of Sif being on Earth, if that's the way they go with it (it's S.H.I.E.L.D., they could just have an interplannetary Skype), then how did she come to be on Earth? Could she meet up with Thor, since, as of the end of Thor 2, we know is staying with Jane on Planet Houston? The universe is now a lot more open, and there's a lot more room for the S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel to meet some Asgardians or other such superheroes face to face. We've already had return appearances from Nick Fury and Maria Hill (who I'm betting will be a regular if the show makes it to a second season, since How I Met Your Mother will have finished for good by that point), but they're situated inside S.H.I.E.L.D., so we're not any closer to the universe than we thought we already would be. There's also been some nice "after the fact" episodes, where they basically clean up after Thor's adventures, and, while it is nice to see some of the same sets, it just feels like this team are a cleaning crew with their personalised Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. It's like when you go to a party knowing just one friend, then by the end of the party you come out knowing a whole new social circle. Well, if everything goes down well, Coulson's team might just have joined the party.
