American Horror Story: 10 Best Minor Characters
4. Shelley
Responsible for what just might be one of the finest pieces of dialogue in the entire with her: ""I've got a cucumber in my room but it's not because I was hungry." quip, Shelley is a patient at Briarcliffe Manor during the second season of the show, Asylum.
Portrayed in the show by Chloƫ Sevigny, Shelley found herself at Briarcliffe thanks to her supposed lust and promiscuous ways. She makes no attempt to hide the fact that she enjoys all things pleasureful in life, and uses her looks to manipulate the guards and various others around her during her time in the show. However, she is also an important character in highlighting the warped dynamics and hypocrisy between groups both inside and out of the asylum, lambasting Arden for calling her a slut and making the point that society views men who enjoy pleasure much different to how they view women.
Brave and one of the wholly moral figures in the season, she puts the likes of Lana, Kit and Grace before herself in providing a distraction, though that is what turns out to be the event that leads to her gruesome and tragic downfall.
