American Horror Story: 10 Ways The Different Seasons Can Be Connected
7. There's A Massachusetts Connection
There is certainly a Massachusetts connection between the seasons of American Horror Story. The Harmons of Season 1 moved to Los Angeles from Boston. The events of Season 2 take place at Briarcliff Asylum, which is outside of Boston. The witches in Coven trace their roots back to Salem, and Queenie, played by talented and hilarious Gabourey Sidibe, is even related to Tituba. Tituba was a real slave of Samuel Parris in Danvers, Massachusetts in 1692. One of the first individuals to be accused of witchcraft, she survived to disappear into history. In another interesting connection to history, Fiona Goode carries the last name of one of the victims of the Salem Witch Trials: Sarah Good, one of the first witches to be hanged in Salem (it wasnt uncommon at that time to change spellings of names). A third creepy connection to Boston exists with the Black Dahlia. The Black Dahlia was aspiring Hollywood starlet, Elizabeth Short, who was brutally murdered and dismembered in 1947 Los Angeles. In Murder House, she is killed by Dr. Curan and her body dumped after being chopped up by the ghost of Charles Montgomery. In real life, Elizabeth Short was actually born in Boston (yet another Massachusetts connection). The last known Massachusetts connection is writer Brad Falchuk, co-creator of the series. He was born in Massachusetts as well. Either he loves it and is writing about what he knows, or hes trying to reveal the darker side of the Old Colony State.
