2. "Her?"
When it comes time for young George Michael to get his first girlfriend, he settles on the plainly plain Ann Veal, much to the disinterest and relative confusion of his family. The joy of this running gag is in constant disappointment that Michael expresses for his son, obviously believing that George Michael is capable of far better than the inventor of the "Mayonegg" (don't ask). No matter the occassion, if Ann is around, Michael will never fail to tilt his head, raise his eyebrows slightly and deadpan: "Her?" when his son makes a reference to their relationship. To make matters worse, Michael constantly forgets Ann's name, and settles for calling her things like "Egg" or "Yam." To be fair, Ann isn't even
that bad, which, really, is the entire point of the joke. It's just hilarious that the normally level-headed Michael is so peeved at the idea of her dating his son.
