Arrow: 10 Major Predictions For Season 5

Could the show actually start being good again?!

Arrow Predictions 1
The CW

After the events of Season 4, Arrow is going to be looking noticeably different as it enters its fifth year.

Last season witnessed Oliver pushed all the way by Damien Darhk, and resulted in Team Arrow being broken apart: Laurel died, leaving a huge hole in the team and all the characters' lives; Thea gave up on vigilantism; Diggle decided to rejoin the army.

Oliver and Felicity were the last two standing, but even that was markedly changed: Oliver is now Mayor, Felicity diverted a nuke but killed an entire town, and the pair are no longer together romantically (for now).

It means that Arrow is going to be shaking things up and getting some new recruits this year, as witnessed in the trailers we'll be seeing the likes of Wild Dog and Artemis join the team, while Curtis will also step up and become Mister Terrific.

On top of that, there's the move to address recent criticisms of the show, and an attempt to get back to basics. Gone will be magic and mysticism, and in its place we're (hopefully) getting some great fight scenes, a focus on the journey of the protagonist, flashbacks that actually work, and a renewed Team Arrow dealing with threats to Star City - and likely, these things will happen along the way.

10. Team Arrow Will Be Reunited Within A Few Episodes

Arrow Predictions 1
The CW

As mentioned, Team Arrow is shorn of a few members, with just Oliver and Felicity left in the Arrowcave. While that wouldn't actually be a bad thing to run with for a few episodes, getting back to having Oliver as more of a lone wolf, there are going to be new recruits.

On top of that, however, it seems very unlikely that Diggle and Thea will be staying away from the crimefighting life for too long. Set photos have already emerged for Diggle sporting a much-needed new mask, so he'll be back in the game at some point, and it's likely to be after just a few episodes - it'd be too difficult to involve him in the main plot otherwise.

Thea is a character they can afford to do something different with a bit more, since she'll be throwing herself into the political side of things, but she's done such a good job as Speedy - and brings a nice counterbalance to the seriousness of Oliver and Dig - that she too will be suiting up again before long, meaning Team Arrow is reunited (and perhaps a little overstuffed).
