With the shared realm of the Arrowverse, The CW has given viewers something truly remarkable. Never before has there been such a multi-show world where capes ‘n’ tights can crossover with each other so seamlessly and smoothly – whether that’s Supergirl swinging by for a quick coffee with one of her fellow heroes, or whether that’s a more ominous universe-altering mega event.
So often front and centre for the Arrowverse, of course, are Green Arrow and The Flash.
It was with Stephen Amell’s Emerald Archer that this whole shared world of TV was first launched back in 2012. From there, Grant Gustin’s Scarlet Speedster-in-waiting made a brief appearance in Arrow ahead of launching his own spin-off series.
For all of the heroes and villains featured across the Arrowverse, none have quite as unique a bond as Oliver Queen and Barry Allen. Well, until Oliver ended up sacrificing himself in order to save the entire multiverse as we know it. But even then, it was Barry who was gifted the Green Arrow’s famed mask after Oliver’s passing – so tight was their friendship.
