Arrow Season 7: 4 Ups & 1 Down From ‘My Name Is Emiko Queen’

The disbanding of Team Arrow wasn't pleasant for anyone, least of Oliver Queen. However, most of the team members seemed to find their new places in the crime-fighting world rather quickly: Dinah became the new captain of the SCPD, Curtis was right at home with Diggle and Lyla at A.R.G.U.S. and even former villain Laurel became the city's new District Attorney. Unfortunately, that left Rene out in the cold.

All season, the former vigilante has been attempting to save the one area of Star City that is often forgotten about, the Glades. But as Dinah constantly warned him against returning to his vigilante ways, he found a new way of feeling useful: championing the new Green Arrow.

The midseason premiere took that to the next level as Emiko's injury saw her turn to Rene for help. In doing so, she kick-started the partnership that he had been waiting for and, despite her opposition, it eventually led to the pair teaming up to take down the man who killed Emiko's mother. In doing so, it gave Rene the two things he's been craving: a purpose, and the return of Wild Dog.

After that debacle of a storyline he was involved in last season, Rene has undoubtedly redeemed himself this year, proving to be an engaging protagonist and, after this episode especially, we're all rooting for him.

Welcome back, Wild Dog.
