Arrow Season 7 Premiere: 6 Ups & 2 Downs From ‘Inmate 4587’

3. Black Siren's Redemption Continues

When the mysterious archer surfaced in Star City, everyone wanted to know what the city's new District Attorney had to say about it. It was then revealed that Black Siren had actually taken up the position.

Given that the original Laurel had become the DA right before she died (and that the city thinks Siren is actually their Laurel), it makes total sense that she would assume the position. Becoming a public official would make her untouchable, should Diaz choose to look for revenge, and it would allow her to monitor criminal activities, for when she decides to look for revenge.

However, there is something far more important at work here, and that is Earth-2 Laurel's attempts to honour Quentin by becoming more like the hero that he wanted her to be. During her villainous escapades last season, he was the only one who saw anything remotely good in her and, although it took a while for him to draw it out, she slowly began redeeming herself as the season drew to a close - turning on Diaz.

Though we didn't see too much of her in the episode (more on that later), this certainly suggests that she's set for a journey of redemption this year. Although she will likely maintain her sass, sarcasm and all-round badassery, we should expect to see her play more of an anti-hero throughout the season - and that is the perfect course of action for this rich character.
