It was recently revealed that Laurel had no idea Thea was taken to Nanda Parbat and revived using the Lazarus Pit, however this deleted scene shows that she did at least know Thea was taken somewhere in order to save her. As Oliver is about to board the plane, he tells Laurel that they're taking Thea to see a specialist (well, it's not exactly a lie). While that ties into what we've seen of Laurel and Thea this year, it's the last bit of their conversation that's quite surprising. With him leaving the city, he tells her that she has to be its protector in his absence. It's a big step-up for Laurel, and shows just how far she has come as the Black Canary in such a short space of time, and it's also a strong scene between Oliver and Laurel, showing a glimpse of the bond and history between them. NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
