21. The Flash Season 3

The Flash Season 1
The CW

Some took issue with the fact that The Flash was too reliant on speedster villains in the early-going, but it's easy to see why when you look at some of what came next. That's not really the problem with Season 3 though. The problem was that Savitar was so powerful, so all-knowing and so unstoppable that it was impossible for him to be anybody but Barry - rendering the multiple 'Future Flash' teases redundant.

Furthermore, the time travel logic was patchy and inconsistent, Julian Albert felt like he lacked purpose after the first half and the relegation of Iris to damsel-in-distress was problematic.

In all fairness, there were some admittedly great episodes (the musical crossover with Supergirl is a classic), the birth of Killer Frost was well-executed and seeing The Flash team up with Kid-Flash, Jesse Quick and Jay Garrick was always a thrill.
