Attack On Titan: 12 Standout Moments From Season 3

It's only taken three seasons to get the back story behind Attack on Titan, but it was absolutely worth the wait. It turns out that our heroes aren't killing mindless titans, they're actually killing human beings who have been turned into them by another race of people called Marleyans.

It turns out that everyone inside the walls, including Eren, Mikasa and Armin, are called Eldians and are descendants of Ymir. Ymir was a young girl who made pact with the devil, thus granting her the powers of the nine founding titans. While the Eldian's revered her, the Marleyans used propaganda to disparage her and her people following the Great Titan War.

Many years afterwards, we see how the Eldian people had been persecuted over the years and how Grisha's mistake as a child led to him inheriting the Attack Titan. It's really incredible how this show has gradually switched genres from a show that felt more like a horror to something that's closer to political war story, yet still maintain the tone that fans fell in love with.
