The original Battlestar Galactica aired in 1978. Although it won 1979's People's Choice Award for "Best New TV Drama Series", the show was canceled after only two seasons. Multiple attempts to rejuvenate the concept were made in the ensuing years through books and a failed 1980 reboot.

A re-imagined project was picked up by the SyFy Channel and Sky Television in 2003. Starting out as a two episode mini-series, BSG would then get picked up for four seasons as a regular series. Proving to be more popular than its predecessor, the new show would go on to win a Peabody Award along with multiple Emmy, Saturn, and IGN Awards.

With that much success, let s take a look at some of the biggest names from the show and where they are now. Minor spoilers ahead, but don't complain...you've had 13 frakking years!

*Bonus points* The uncredited "Guest at the Bar" in the 2009 episode Deadlock was played by none other than composer Bear McCreary. McCreary got his start as an assistant working on the Battlestar Galactica mini-series, then took over as the primary composer for the full series along with its spin-offs and webisodes. Today, he is known for composing music for 10 Cloverfield Lane, Colossal, Black Sails, Snowpiercer (the series), Agents of SHIELD, and The Walking Dead.

Then: Never one to be too far from a sci-fi role, Sam Witwer had appeared in shows like Dark Angel and Star Trek: Enterprise before getting a meatier role as Alex "Crashdown" Quartararo.

Now: Witwer jumped immediately into more TV series and movies after BSG, but became immortalized in sci-fi culture when he brought to life the character of "Starkiller" in the Star Wars: Force Unleashed games while also providing the voice of Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine. He would continue to be a part of the Star Wars galaxy, voicing Palpatine in multiple Star Wars games and animation. Then, in Star Wars: The Clone Wars he gave a new life to Darth Maul and continued to voice him in Star Wars Rebels, and Solo: A Star Wars Story.

And, for all of you that played Days Gone...Witwer also voiced protagonist Deacon St. John.
