Battlestar Galactica: Every Starbuck Episode Ranked Worst To Best

9. You Can't Go Home Again

Battlestar Galatica Starbuck On The Red Moon
Universal

Seemingly lost in action, Starbuck finds herself marooned on a moon with the clock running out. A small tear in her suit has reduced her oxygen levels severely, with air becoming a serious issue. Above her, Commander Adama refuses to call off the search, resulting in more and more Vipers being damaged by the atomesphere.

There are two battles now underway: Starbuck must find a way to escape and the Commander must find a way to continue the search in opposition to the will of the President, who deems the search a fruitless endeavour.

Starbuck finds a crashed Cylon Raider on the surface, killed from one of her bullets. She is able to juryrig the raider to, first, provide her with the oxygen she needs and second, let her escape from the surface of the planet.

Up above, just as the fleet is about to jump away, they detect her and Apollo zooms in for the kill - only to discover 'Starbuck' written in yellow paint on the underside of the Raider's wings. It is a cheer out loud moment, topped off with Adama's forgiveness of her in the final moments.
