Battlestar Galactica: Every Starbuck Episode Ranked Worst To Best

13. The Road Less Travelled

Battlestar Galatica Starbuck Mutiny
Universal

The story of the Demetrius quickly becomes one of the most testing journeys on the idea of faith in Battlestar Galactica. The crew that accompanies Starbuck is a volunteer only mission, though after 58 days in space (exploring sectors they have already visited), their patience is growing thin. Adding to this Starbuck has become almost a recluse, leaving Helo to run the ship from day to day.

Things begin to come to a head when Leoben arrives in a damaged Heavy Raider. He is brought aboard, but Starbuck commands he be brought to her quarters. There, he implores her to follow him to his Basestar, that the answers she seeks wait for her there.

Outside, the air begins to grow thick as the rest of the crew seriously doubt Starbuck's mental state. Only Anders and Helo seem to have faith in her - with even Athena believing the Cylon guest to be warping her mind.

Things come to a head when Anders discovers Starbuck and Leoben in an intimate situation, leading to Anders beating Leoben to a pulp. Leoben confirms that a Cylon civil war has broken out and they now need each other.

The crew finally turn on Starbuck, with even Helo stepping up to relieve her of command.
