2. Ripper Street (Series 2)
The captivatingly gritty Ripper Street will return later this year for a second round of Victorian depravity, grime and violence that drew us to its first series. Matthew Macfadyen returns as the troubled DI Edmund Reid, paired with his ex-military colleague DS Bennet Drake (Jerome Flynn) and the mysterious and talented coroner Captain Homer Jackson (Adam Rothenberg). Many new cast members have been added; David Costabile, Gale from Breaking Bad and Thomas Klebanow on The Wire, Being Human's Damien Molony, Joseph Mawle (Game of Thrones) Leanne Best (Theatre Awards UK nomination actress of The Match Box), Leverage's Gina Bellman, Paul Kaye (Game of Thrones, 2000 Acres of Sky), Neve McIntosh (Doctor Who) and James Wilby (Maurice) will all star. Ripper Street creator and writer Richard Warlow told the BBC: "I am enormously grateful to have been given the opportunity to return to 'H' Division once more and will be working tirelessly to ensure that those who have joined us each week will find ever more compelling crime-fighting thrills down on Ripper Street the second time around."
