Jimmy’s soft spot for the elderly and charm over them helped him land a temporary success when he began practising elder law, helping them with their wills. Irene was one of his clients and led Jimmy into discovering how the Sandpiper Crossing retirement was over-charging those in their care.

Later down the line when Jimmy is broke and no longer a lawyer, he realises a big payout awaits him when the Sandpiper Crossing case is settled. However the problem was Irene who, as the class representative, gets to decide when the settlement is enough.

Irene is a sweet lady who has little idea of how the law works and is just doing what the lawyers tell her but Jimmy, being impatient and desperate for money went out and manipulated Irene and her friends to release the payout early so he could get his share fast. However, in doing so, Jimmy isolated Irene, having turned all her friends against her with false gossip, leaving her alone and heartbroken.

Thankfully Jimmy is able to correct his wrongdoings, but the damage had been done and it cost him all the respect he ever earned with the elderly community. Though Jimmy was able to see his mistakes, it shows how his business, ignorance and greedy side often takes over his caring, gentle side.

He becomes blind to those he’s hurting all around him when he has a goal in mind.
