Broadcast Wagstaff School News saw the rivalry between Tina and Tammy resurface. As their elementary holds auditions for a school news programme, Tammy manipulates Tina's audition so that she loses out on the anchor job and is given the title of staff intern instead.

Despite her new role, Tina discovers a juicy story on her own as there is a "Mad Pooper" (or "The Butt-ler" as Linda calls it) going around the school and deficating in random areas. A story that is both funny and mysterious, it is up to her to find the culprit so that she can prove she's the not the Mad Pooper.

Broadcast Wagstaff School News also features the show's funniest ever B-plot. As Gene believes he'll grow up to look exactly like his father, he decides to change his appearance to look like Bob and copy everything he does. The comedy practically writes itself from then on as Gene is so committed to his character whilst Bob grows increasingly frustrated at his mimicking and conversely, Linda encourages it.
