Bob's Burgers: 15 Greatest Episodes
8. The Belchies
Burger of the Day: I Am Mad About Saffron (Made with no saffron)
The quality of the show massively improved in season two and the debut episode “The Belchies” signalled the true beginning of the Bob’s Burgers that we’ve all grown to love.
The adventure and humour is fully ramped up. Louise has just found out about the legend of the hidden treasure in the town’s abandoned taffy factory, which is being demolished the very next day. She hosts a midnight hunt with her siblings, but Tina spills the news and much to Louise’s frustration, Jimmy Jr, Zeke and the Pesto twins join. Meanwhile, Bob and Linda have a romantic evening with some sexy dice but it’s not going how they’re envisioned because it features ear massages and foot licking. Even Teddy gets a hilarious minor plot where he hosts a three bean salad evening, but it’s bring your own bean.
The ending is true to how a typical episode of Bob’s Burgers usually ends – the family come so close to being rich but lose out (in this case, capturing the taffy body but not finding the gold bars inside it), but they’ll always have the priceless unity of each other’s love and loyalty.
