BoJack Horseman: 10 Greatest Diane Episodes
3. Nice While It Lasted (S6E16)
BoJack had his share of troubles in his life, particularly since his betrayal of Herb 20 years before the events of the series, but Diane was arguably even more damaged. She wasn’t at fault for any of her struggles, but suffered more than anyone.
Her battle with depression had prevented her from being happy throughout most of her life, but in Chicago with Guy, and having the confidence to take anti-depressants without having to worry about gaining weight, she found herself getting better. However, even in a different state across the country, BoJack managed to ruin it.
The final conversation that took place between Diane and BoJack on the roof at Princess Carolyn’s wedding gave her a great amount of closure. Despite the phone call from her ‘friend’ accusing her of not caring, and sending her into a regression away from all the progress she had made in terms of her mental health, she was resilient.
Hearts broke when she referred to Guy as ‘her boyfriend at the time’, but the reveal that he was now her husband was genuinely one of the best moments of the entire series. After all this time, she managed to be happy, even if that meant saying goodbye to someone who had such a big effect on her life over the last few years.
