Breaking Bad: 10 Reasons The Ending Satisfies

6. Character Development

breaking-bad-season-four If you think about it, this is finale is really a second part to the episode before it. In Granite State we got to say goodbye to major recurring characters such as Saul and Walt Jr, whereas we are given an actual ending to Saul's character, Walter's son goes out on a high note after finally getting the chance to let his emotions out. He was a character that has almost caught his dad in the act of doing something sketchy on more than a few occasions, so it was a send-off for him. The finale gave us a chance to do something that many other shows don't often do. Where a show like Dexter has the fortitude to introduce characters that never end up going anywhere (I'm looking at you Nikki), Breaking Bad really serves the fans by giving even minor characters a chance to say goodbye. We get to see great moments from people like, Gretchen and Elliot, as well as Skinny Pete and Badger. There are more, but those are involved in another entry here. As we seen in the opening scenes of the first episode of 2013, we even got to say goodbye to Carol. This was joked about by Skylar and Marie over the phone. Marie got her name wrong, and Skylar corrected her. This conversation would tell you that everybody was going to get their chance to shine as the show was ending.

I'm a fan of pop-culture in all mediums: Music, Film, Gaming, Comics, TV, Whatever. I can generally find something enjoyable in even the worst trash. I guess as a B-Horror enthusiast, I kind of have to. Currently I'm an author working on a manuscript for a crime novel, and attending school to be an Environmental Health and Safety Technician. In the past I've made a go at running in an election for MLA (Member of the Legislative Assembly) for my hometown of Glace Bay. I was 23 at the time, and though I lost (by like a lot), I learned a lot more about politics in a month than I ever learned. Get at me on Twitter @DanWilsonWC
