Breaking Bad: 10 Worst Things Gus Fring Has Ever Done

5. Taking Out Juan

"I See You" is the eighth episode in season three, and delivers one of the first potent reminders that Gus is always one step ahead of his rivals.

Juan Bolsa was one of the co-founders of the cartel and the chief liaison between it and Gus north of the border. The episode sees him ring Gus after both the Salamanca cousins are killed after their attempted hit on Hank, with Juan telling him that he is convinced he has been involved somehow.

Juan asks Gus if he is still on the phone during the conversation, to which Gus calmly replies: "I am here". In what turns out to be a beautiful double entendre, Juan hears the commotion of gunshots and glass shattering, with Gus still smiling on the end of the phone as his rival is killed off.

Another powerful example of the reach of Gus' influence, the willingness he has in taking out those looking to chip away at his position, and the calm persona he manages to uphold even in the midst of committing a heinous act, it is undoubtedly one of the kingpin's most powerful moments in the show's history.
