Last year, Gunn followed up a guest appearance on The Mindy Project with a lead role alongside David Tennant on FOX's limited series Gracepoint, an American remake of Tennant's own Broadchurch series. This summer, it was announced that the actress would be leading the Wall Street film Equity as an investment banker who finds herself reevaluating the corrupt world she's been a part of.
She also appeared in an episode of Criminal Minds earlier this year as Lily Lambert, which served as a backdoor pilot for next year's spinoff, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.
Though Gunn had originally been set to lead the new series, starring with Gary Sinise and Tyler James Williams, it's moving forward without her, freeing the actress up from the procedural commitment to choose whatever television and film roles come her way.
