Breaking Bad Spin-Off Show Has "60% Chance" Of Happening
Bob Odenkirk, the actor who plays corrupt lawyer Saul Goodman in AMC's hit-show Breaking Bad, says there is a "60% chance" of a spin-off show surrounding his character coming to fruition, say NME. Breaking Bad, which follows former chemistry school teacher Walter White as he cooks methamphetamine with former student Jesse Pinkman, has entered its fifth-and-final season and fans are hoping for more action from the Albuquerque, New Mexico-set drama. And they may just get their wish with Odenkirk commenting that there is a fairly high chance of a spin-off happening, but that ultimately it is up to the show's creator Vince Gilligan.
"I give it a 60% chance. It's all a guessing game, in my part. It's up to Vince Gilligan, who created and wrote Breaking Bad, and Peter Gould, who was a part of the episode that spawned Saul Goodman."Asked what fans might expect to see from a spin-off show, Odenkirk, whose character is famous for his catchphrase "Better call Saul!", added:
"Theres a lot to find out about Saul. I think he has a different stripper on his arm, every two weeks, and he's secretly genuinely crushed every time they blow him off. I think there's probably a reason he went into law, beyond just being able to make money at it, so I'd like to see that discovered."Odenkirk believes the spin-off show would continue with Gillingan's ethically-dubious theme should it ever get the green light. He added:
"We're in a different era of television now. You can get much darker and more complicated with your characters and your situations. Vince loves this ethical grey area, and I'd like to see that continue."Breaking Bad is ticking down into its final few episodes as viewers anxiously wait to see what will happen to Walter and Jesse in the show's finale, which is coming to an end after five years.
