Casting HBO's Justice League Dark
1. Constantine - Daniel Craig
Constantine is a tough character to cast. Matt Ryan has kind of already given fans a definitive take, so trying to find anyone to match, let alone surpass, such a performance is quite the challenge. I previously suggested David Tennant as a slightly left-field choice to play the Hellblazer; yet, I now feel that Daniel Craig may pose a better chance at dethroning Ryan.
Craig's Bond, while still the slick operator he always has been, is a far more morally ambiguous hero than his predecessors - he's not all that nice and can be quite cruel at times. Put that alongside some of Craig's other performances such as his tattooed & incredibly blonde crook from Logan Lucky or his smooth-talking drug dealer from Layer Cake and you have yourself one heckuva Constantine.
The man is even from Liverpool, meaning he should be able to nail the accent. Plus, the thought of a Craig-played Constantine alongside a Green-portrayed Zatanna is a bloody nice one, if I do say so myself.
